Wildfire in Washington
In the west of Yakima in the central Washington, a wildfire burning occurred that had grown to nearly 10,000 acres destroying at least one home and threatening about 100 more homes and several outbuildings, early on Monday.
A spokesman for the Yakima County Emergency Management Agency has stated that on Sunday afternoon, the fire, fueled by the huge winds have started about 10 miles west of the city’s downtown and has grown to 8500 acres by 9:30 pm.
Because of the heavy winds, the flames were pushed towards the place where there are several large houses built between the dry sagebrush and irrigated orchards.
The flames have claimed for nearly 3 homes and many small structures.
Nearly 200 fire and emergency personnel were present on the spot battling the wildfire and evacuating the residents from that place. In the course of action, one fire engine has been burned and 3 fire fighters have been injured. The injured were taken to a local hospital for the treatment for the smoke inhalation.car hire
The exact figure of the number of evacuations are not released by the officials but as the fire passed through their area, the residents were allowed to return back to their homes.
